- Which surface has an irregularity. An excavated part.
- Example: That is a concave mirror.

- Which surface is curved, rounded, bulky.
- Example: A solid basketball is considered a convex object.

- Noun
- Is the reflection from a light surface that an incident ray reflect to different directions.
- Example: When I turn the light of my room on, happens a diffuse reflection.

- Device that gradually changes the light intensity.
- Example: At my house there's a dimmer wall switch.
