Bounce
Verb
An object that moves quickly after hitting it.
Example: The ball bounces.

A ball bouncing.
Concave
Adjective
Which surface has an irregularity. An excavated part.
Example: That is a concave mirror.

A concave object (mirror).
Convex
Adjective
Which surface is curved, rounded, bulky.
Example: A solid basketball is considered a convex object.

A basketball representing a convex object.
Diffuse reflection
Noun
Is the reflection from a light surface that an incident ray reflect to different directions.
Example: When I turn the light of my room on, happens a diffuse reflection.

Diffuse reflection on water.
Dimmer
Noun
Device that gradually changes the light intensity.
Example: At my house there's a dimmer wall switch.

A dimmer switch.
Opaque
Adjective
A surface that is not transparent.
Example: This apple is considered an opaque object.

Ray Diagram
A diagram that shows how light travels through different surfaces.
Example: In my class activity, the task was to do a ray diagram.

Specular reflection
Noun
Is the reflection from a light surface where the incident light goes in only one direction.
Comparing specular and diffuse reflection.
Translucent
Adjective
A surface that allows light to pass through.
Example: My room's window is a translucent object.

Umbra
Noun
Is where there is the smallest concentration of light, where the light source is completely blocked.
Example: Our planets have two parts of shadow, the darkest of them is called the umbra.
